Why we make in small batches
Hi friends, Maisy here.
I wanted to write a little about why we make things in small batches. It comes up whenever we share a new drop, especially when some pieces are ready and others still need time in the studio. For us, it has a lot to do with why we started Cozyleigh in the first place: we wanted to make things together, not just design them and hand the making to someone else.
Tristan, Ash and I each have our own part in that, but there's plenty we do together, too. Between the printing, cutting, sanding, finishing and packing, a batch goes through quite a few stages before it's ready to leave. Working on smaller groups of pieces lets us stay involved in all of it.

Making the next batch
A lot of what we make comes out in drops, with a date we share ahead of time. I like that we can think about a group of colors or pieces together, and hear what you'd love to see again. Your requests help us decide what to make next, even though we can't promise every color will return.
There's a wish box on our Drop updates page if you have something in mind. That's also where we share upcoming drops and batch updates, so you don't have to piece together the latest news from an older letter like this one.

Some pieces are made after you order them, while others are already finished. They don't all take the same amount of time, either. A wood piece has different work ahead of it than a printed stand or a desk mat. Rather than give you a list of timings here that could become out of date, please check the product you're choosing and our shipping and lead-time information before ordering. Estimates aren't guarantees, and sometimes our schedule shifts.
If you'd rather choose something that's already made, you can browse our Made & ready shelf. I like seeing finished pieces there, knowing they've been checked and packed and are waiting for a home.

Making this way takes time, and I know waiting for something you've ordered isn't always easy. I don't want to make that sound more romantic than it is. What I do like is that we get to look over each piece and pack it ourselves before it goes out. Being part of those last steps matters to me just as much as choosing the shape or color at the beginning.
Thank you for making room for the way we work. Getting to make things with my family, and then seeing you use them in your own spaces, is what makes me want to keep doing this.
