The Cozyleigh ecosystem

How our pieces fit together

Everything we make is designed to work together. You start with a base, a Pro Desk Mat or a Zen Tray, and the smaller pieces snap onto it and stay where you put them. Most of the idea came from East Asian gardens, tea and homes. Here's where.

Where it started

We went looking for cozy desk accessories, and ended up making our own

In 2020 everyone was suddenly working from home, and Maisy started filming her desk on YouTube: wake up, make something warm, sit down at a desk that felt cozy instead of just practical. People started calling it the cozy desk setup.

What we couldn't find were the actual pieces. Most desk accessories were black or grey and built to look productive. We wanted something warm. So we started making our own at home: a desk mat first, then a little stand for a phone, and we kept going.

The idea

Why we think of it as a Zen garden

We didn't want to design just another workspace. We pictured a Zen garden. In karesansui, the Japanese dry garden, monks rake gravel to suggest water and place each stone with care.

On your desk, the mat is the sand. The Zen MagSafe Charger Stand started from that same picture, a stone in the middle of a circle of raked waves: your MagSafe charger is the stone, and the stand carries the waves around it. The magnets aren't a gadget trick. They hold each piece firmly where you put it, the way a stone stays rooted in the garden while the gravel moves around it.

Beyond the desk

A base you can carry

In Korean homes, people ate at a soban, a small personal table light enough to carry across a courtyard. Wherever you set it down, you had a little quiet space of your own.

The Zen Tray is our version. Medium is an octagon; Large is a stretched octagon. Both bring together three tones of solid wood from our local lumber yard and arrive fully assembled with the legs attached. Carry your tray from the desk to the nightstand, kitchen counter or coffee table.

Wood is not waterproof. Wipe spills promptly and keep water from sitting on the surface. Use a coaster under cups and avoid soaking.
