Size & details

Sizes: Medium has a 24″ × 9″ top shelf (61 × 23 cm) and a 14″ × 7″ lower shelf (36 × 18 cm). Large has a 36″ × 9″ top shelf (91 × 23 cm) and a 24″ × 7″ lower shelf (61 × 18 cm). The lower shelf sits 2.5″ (6 cm) above the desk, with about 2″ (5 cm) of space on it for the little things. Feet are 5″ (13 cm) tall.

Monitor fit: Your monitor's stand sits on the top shelf, so its base needs to fit within 24″ × 9″ (Medium) or 36″ × 9″ (Large). The screen itself can reach past the ends. That suits most 24–27″ monitors on the Medium and up to a 34″ ultrawide on the Large.

Wood: solid maple, finished with hard wax oil. The lower shelf is a ¾″ solid maple plank set into ½″ rabbets in the 1″ legs.

Arrives: fully assembled.

Made by hand, so no returns or exchanges. Arrived damaged? Email us within 48 hours, with photos.

Wood is not waterproof. Use a coaster under cups and wipe spills right away.

Cleaning: dust with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Skip soaking, harsh cleaners and alcohol: they strip the finish. More in the wood care guide.

Wood is a living material, so grain, color and tone vary from piece to piece.

A note from our studio

“We are all from the same tree.” Tristan said that to me while we were choosing the wood for every piece. We cut, fit and finish each one by hand in our workshop, so no two grains match. Made by hand, one small batch at a time.

Inspired by a torii gate.

In Japanese tradition, a torii marks a threshold, the line between the ordinary and the sacred. The Zen Desk Shelf brings that idea to your desk: your screen rises on the frame, and a quiet space opens beneath it.

Each shelf is cut from solid maple in our studio. We sand and finish each one by hand. Movable dividers on the lower shelf give the small things you reach for through the day a place of their own.
