A note from our studio

Fa (花) means flower in Cantonese, and these are the trays that came out of a batch with a small mark: a faint layer line, a lid that sits a hair differently. They hold your little things just the same. A second life, from the same studio.

Size & details

A second life: small surface marks, works perfectly. Everything we make passes through our hands, and handmade means no two pieces come out exactly the same. This one came out of a batch with a small mark that doesn’t meet our finish standard. It’s purely aesthetic and doesn’t change how it works, so we give it a second life here instead of letting it go to waste. Each one may look a little different from the photos. Available while supplies last.

Size: 102 × 102 mm; 36 mm tall without the lid, 42 mm with it.

Lid: each tray comes with one gaiwan-inspired lid. Stack as many trays as you like and keep one lid on top.

Ecosystem: magnets inside let it snap onto the Pro Desk Mat and the Zen Tray, no adhesive. How the ecosystem fits together →

Care, shipping & returns

Care: mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, then rinse and dry with a microfiber towel. Avoid alcohol and harsh cleaners. The same care as our Zen MagSafe Charger Stand: care guide.

3D printing builds each piece layer by layer, so you may notice faint layer lines or small surface details. They’re part of how it’s made and don’t change how it works.

Shipping: already made, then checked, packed and shipped from our studio. The date above shows when yours ships.

Imperfectly Perfect pieces can’t be returned or exchanged.

Fa (花), a flower for your little things.

Fa is the Cantonese word for flower, and the tray takes its shape from the traditional four-petal motif. It’s a home for the small things that make a day yours: rings by the sink, keys by the door, earrings at night.

The lid is an ode to the gaiwan, the lidded tea bowl: the lid is heaven, the tray is humanity, and the base beneath it is earth. Each tray is printed in our studio, weighted with a solid block of metal so it stays put and feels substantial in your hand, and polished by hand. Magnets inside let it snap onto the Pro Desk Mat or the Zen Tray.
