Cut & joinedCut on the CNC and table saw, joined with tenons, half-laps or dowels, and fitted by hand.

A note from our studio

“We are all from the same tree.” Tristan said that to me while we were choosing solid maple, white oak and walnut for every piece. We cut, fit and finish each one by hand in our workshop, so no two grains match. Made to order, by hand, and numbered.

Size & details

Woods: three tones of solid hardwood, finished with a brushed-in hard wax oil and a UV-cured oil. Maple with a cherry interior and walnut feet; white oak with a walnut interior and walnut feet; or walnut with a maple interior and cherry feet.

Sizes: octagon 10″ × 10″ · long octagon 15″ × 10″. Ships assembled; the feet may arrive separately to keep them safe in transit.

Care, shipping & returns

Care: dust with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners and alcohol, which can strip the finish. More in the wood care guide.

Wood is a living material, so grain, color and tone vary from piece to piece. No two are alike.

Shipping: made to order in small batches, then packed and shipped from our studio. The date above shows when yours ships. Every tray is numbered, and we limit it to 2 per person so more of you can have one.

The story

Inspired by the Korean soban.

A soban is a small portable table, light enough to carry so you could make a quiet room wherever you sat down. The Zen Tray brings that idea home: a stage for tea, a journal or a candle, from the desk to the nightstand.

It’s the portable base of the Cozyleigh Ecosystem, so the charger stand, puck and Fa tray stay put on it. We cut each tray from three tones of solid wood from our local lumber yard, then sand it, brush in a hard wax oil by hand and buff it with natural-bristle brushes for a soft sheen. Every tray is engraved and numbered.
